TRIP SUMMARY

Specially designed by Terelj Hotel’s tour department explore the most iconic highlights of legendary Gobi Desert at a comfort pace by private guide and vehicle.

Deep into Gobi and it’s famous sites and natural wonders offer insight into intriguing natural wonders and captivating landscapes. But beyond open vastness, deep into the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Parks and Hongoryn Sand Dune, a magical landscape of multi-colored gorges, rocky cliffs, Bactrian camels, and ethereal rock formations also awaits! Beginning in Terelj Hotel and ending in Terelj Hotel.

ITINERARY

Day 1. Tsagaan Suvarga Cliffs

After breakfast, drive to White Stupa site (6 hours), known as multi-colored sand cliffs that created by nature as of Buddhist icon Stupa. Here we’ll explore for a panoramic view of multicolored cliffs. Lunch where nearby Ikh Gazriin Chuluu site,  afternoon arrive at Tsagaan Suvarga, you’ll enjoy the sunset at the stunning colorful cliffs. Overnight in ger camp. (Ger Camp; B, L, D)

Day 2. South Gobi / Flaming Cliffs

Head deep into Gobi Desert, after 4.5 hours of drive we arrive at Flaming Cliffs with fame of “first site of dinosaurs eggs ever found”, explore the area by foot, opportunity to ride camels and explore nearby Saxaul tree forest, enjoy a fresco dinner overlooking a sunset cliffs.

Day 3. Hongornyn Els Sand Dune

Drive towards Hongoryn Els Sand Dune through a landscape of scenic vast valleys. Pack lunch on the way in amidst of mountain valley. Arrive in ger camp, in the afternoon explore a dune by foot or sample camel ride, return to ger camp for dinner and overnight. (Ger camp; B, L,D)

Day 4. Meditation temple/Petroglyphs

After breakfast, taking return drive to, stop on the way at the meditation temple built by local monk, next explore nearby petroglyph site, we return to base for overnight and dinner, overnight in gers.

Day 5.  Terelj Hotel / Luxury Apartment in Ulaanbaatar

Spend all day driving back to Ulaanbaatar ( 7 hours ), picnic lunch on the way, later afternoon we arrive in boutique hotel of Terelj. (Please note we offer staying in high-end apartments in Ulaanbaatar that serviced by Terelj Hotel, ask for bookings at the reception). Overnight hotel. ( Terelj Hotel or optional stay in Ulaanbaatar; B, L, D)
